TAPS – SHOWERS
Apply water aerators to existing water taps and showers, before or after the spiral. They introduce air in the water stream to maintaining the pressure, whilst using less water. Use water-efficient shower and tap heads. They are inexpensive and easy to install.

GARDEN WATERING: Water your garden early in the morning or late in the afternoon, when evaporation is limited.
PLANT CHOICE: Choose plants that do not require frequent watering.
GARDEN MAINTENANCE: Weed your garden often in order to minimize water absorbed by the weeds.

W.C.
Install WCs with double system cisterns. Place a plastic bottle with sand in the toilet tank to reduce the quantity of water consumed.
Put food colouring in your toilet tank. If it seeps into the toilet bowl without flushing, you have a leak!

CHECK YOUR WATERMETER
Frequently check the recording on your water meter to promptly detect possible water leakages from your plumbing installations.
If your water meter counter is turning continuously, whilst your water tank is full and water is not being used, you have a leak!

DEFECTIVE PLUMBING INSTALLATIONS
Repair immediately any leaking taps, tanks, water cisterns or pipes.

HOT WATER
Don’t leave the water running in vain until it becomes hot. Install a hot water circulator.

COOL WATER

Don’t leave the water running in vain until it becomes cold. Keep water drinking bottles in the refrigerator and mix the cold water with the tap water.

BATH
Don’t fill the bathtub. Take a shower instead, without leaving the water running while soaping.

CHILDREN
Don’t leave the children waste water while playing.

TEETH BRUSHING - SHAVING
Don’t leave the water running in vain while brushing your teeth or while shaving.

DISH AND CLOTHES WASHING
Don’t leave the water running in vain while washing the dishes. Use the dishwasher and the washing-machine only if they are full.

WASHING FRUITS AND VEGETABLES
Wash the fruits and the vegetables in a bowl. Use the same water for watering the flowers.

VERANDAS – PAVEMENTS – OTHER EXTERNAL SPACES
Clean these areas by sweeping or simple mopping without using the hose.

WASHING THE CAR
Use a bucket and a sponge. Don’ t use the hose.

Leakage in the town
Inform immediately the WBL for any leakage or water loss in the town.
